Cruise ship slowed down due to technical issues

The "National Geographic Explorer" was repositioning from the Antarctic when it encountered technical issues that have slowed its progress, meaning it was now running a couple of days late. In order to be on time for its next cruise, NG Explorer has taken the decision to drop some ports, next port is Rio de Janeiro, ETA Apr 2, 2016.

The "National Geographic Explorer" escorted the damaged cruise ship "Clelia II" towards Ushuaia on Dec 8, 2010, after this was struck by a fierce wave and had a temporary loss of part of its propulsion. The "NGC" passed a satellite phone to re-establish communication with the vessel.
