Repairs of collision damage completed
Repairs to the "MSC Leanne" have been completed at the premise of Samkang S&C Co., Ltd., Goseong, on Jan 17, 2018. The vessel was shifted to the Jangseungpo anchorage on Jan 19 at 4 p.m. to idle for 1 to 2 weeks, awaiting the vessel?s further commercial schedule. The ship had been in collision with the "C.C. Great which was entering Busan on Dec 12, 2017, amd suffered severe damage to port side shell plating, requiring immediate repairs prior to departure. She doeked at Samkang S&C Co, Goseong, on Jan 4.
SHI Delivers Boxship MSC LEANNE to Ocean Yield
Norwegian shipowner Ocean Yield ASA has taken delivery of the 19,500 TEU container vessel MSC Leanne from South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI). Following the delivery of the containership giant on March 22, the 196,000 dwt vessel commenced a 15-year bareboat charter with Switzerland-based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). Featuring a length of 399.9 meters and a width of 58.8 meters, MSC Leanne is the last ultra large container vessel (ULCV) in a series of six mega boxships that Ocean Yield owns in a joint venture with Quantum Pacific Shipping, a part of Quantum Pacific Group.
