Allided with icebreaker Mudyug, S-Petersburg

Ferry Princess Maria allided with docked icebreaker Mudyug at 2322 Moscow time Nov 17 13 in S-Petersburg port. Ferry was entering port, escorted by two tugs, one fore and one aft, icebreaker was docked starboard at berth No 28. Strong wind gust pushed ferry towards icebreaker, ferry and tugs weren’t able to control vessel’s movement. After allision ferry resumed proceeding towards passenger terminal and was safely docked. Ferry suffered some scratches. Icebreaker’s life and working boats were severely damaged, bulwark was dented and broken, deck also suffered some damages. At the time of an accident all the traffic to/from S-Petersburg port was closed due to stormy weather. An exception was made for a ferry.

A Cuban man stuck on Russian ferry for more than a month due to bureaucracy mismatch

For more than a month a Cuban citizen Luiz-Vladimir Vega Suspedes can’t leave the ferry Princess Maria (IMO 7911533) of St. Peter Ferry Line connecting S-Petersburg and Helsinki. He boarded the ferry more than a month ago in Helsinki with all the papers required to apply for Russian citizenship, but something went wrong in Russian Immigration computer center, which didn’t receive electronic version of all the papers, which was duly sent by the poor applicant. Luiz-Vladimir is 41 years old, he’s an architect, teacher of Spanish and flamenco fan. He was dreaming of living in Russia for a long time.
