The "Mærsk Ras Laffan" rescued six Iranian sailors whose ship had sunk in the Gulf of Persia on Aug 12. 2010. At 8.27 a.m. an object was sighted in rough seas and short time later an SOS-flag sighted. The crew of the distressed vessel started to throw cargo over board in order to lighten the ship. The "Mærsk Ras Laffan" launched a boat and took the crew aboard.
