Container barge sailed again months after fire
The "Martie", 849 ts (CENI-No.: 02325291), which had caught fire in the port of Waalwijk on Feb 7, left the port of Rotterdam after repairs on Apr 17 at 2 p.m. It headed to Zwijndrecht where she berthed at 3.50 p.m.
Fire on container ship
On Feb 17, 2018, at 8.10 a.m. a fire broke out aboard the "Martie" in the port of Waalwijk on the Bergsche Maas near Waalwijk. The fire was raging in the living and living space of the ship The fire rescue attended with four engines. Large plumes of smoke were billowing over the port area, and people were asked to keep doors and windows closed. The ship had come from the ROC Overslagbedrijf and was loaded with empty containers.
