Coaster grounded on River Trent

The "Marie" ran aground on the River Trent near the Keadby Bridge in the afternoon, on Aug 6, 2017. It got stuck near to Scunthorpe with the low tide expected at 3.30 p.m. She was heading for Gunness Wharf. Two tugs attempted to manoeuvre the ship last night during high tide but to no avail. The salvage attempts were then suspended for the night. The Keadby Bridge footpath was shut off by North Lincolnshire Council while the ship was stranded and as three tugs attempted to move it. They successfully turned the ship around in the river with the rising tide at around 7.45 a.m. on Aug 7. The "Marie" had sailed from Ceuta on July 27. Spanish maritime authorities release Gibraltar-flag ship after detention

Spanish maritime authorities in Algeciras on Nov. 11 released a Gibraltar-flag ship detained last week after a technical inspection. The vessel, the Fehn Mirage, had previously carried shipments of rock to Gibraltar but officials insisted the detention was unrelated. Crew on the vessel, working in coordination with surveyors from the Gibraltar maritime Administration, addressed a small number of minor deficiencies detected by the Spanish authorities. The Fehn Mirage was detained under the framework of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding on port state control. The Fehn Mirage, which was unloaded at the time at the time of its detention, was in Algeciras on a commercial call.
