Ghost ship drifted onto Salloum beach
The "Maria M" was found beached at the coast of Salloum in the Mediterranean sea by locals in the morning of Oct 1, 2017. There was no crew on board, no information the on crew’s fate nor ship’s status. The locals suspected the ship could have been involved in migrants trafficking. The last known AIS transmission dated from 2015 in Salloum. The vessel, however, did not look like having been derelict.
