Engine pipe leak fixed by crew
The "Maran Courage", en route from Seven Islands to Rotterdam with a crew of 21 on board along with 198.000 tonnes of iron ore, suffered an engine pipe leak resulting in a reduced speed 30 miles east-northeast of North Foreland, in position 51 30 27.6 N, 002 13 19.2 E on May26, 2019, at 1 p.m. 45 minutes later the vessel reported all repairs had been completed and it continued on the voyage to Rotterdam where it berthed at the EECV Europoort Terminal on May 27 at 8 a.m.
Cargo ship sank fishing vessel
On Aug 11, 2016, at 5.30 a.m. the "Anangel Courage" was in collision with a Chinese fishing vessel in the East China Sea about 35 miles northwest of the island Uotsori, the largest uninhabited archipelago of the Senkako group, in the Okinawa Prefecture. The 11th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters received a distress signal from the freighter and sent a patrol boat and a plane to the site. The Japanese Coastguard unit, based in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, has been on high alert since it detected increased operations by Chinese government vessels and fishing boats in waters around the Senkakus on Aug 5. The fishing vessel was not spotted and believed to have sunk, six crew members were found and rescued by the Japanese Coast Guard. THe SAR operation was continued, as eight crew members of the fishing vessel’s crew were still missing. The "Anangel Courage" was en route from Nantong to Hedland.
