Polish yacht towed to Andenes
On Oct 17, 2015, the lifeboat "Dagfinn_Paust" was called to assist the "Magnus Zaremba" which was towed into the port of Andenes in stormy weather.
Abandoned boat being towed to shore
After the wind had subsided on Mar 29, a search for the "Magnus Zaremba" was launched, and the "Ålesund" headed to the last known position of the sailboat, supported by an aircraft area. After a six-hour search the boat was found 40 nautical miles west of Marsteinen and was taken in tow towards the shore. It was delivered to the rescue service in the Korsfjord around midnight. The crew of the "Magnus Zaremba" was accomodated in Stavanger until they reunite with their boat. Crew rescued in the night
On Mar 28 at 10.45 p.m. all five people were taken off the "Magnus Zaremba" by the rescue helicopters from Sula and Florø. Two of them had ave light injuries, and were taken to a waiting ambulance at Sula where they arrived at 11.30 p.m. The abandoned "Magnus Zaremba" had been used to collect research material. The Coastguard vessel "Ålesund" was going to see if it was possible to tow the abandoned boat to Bergen.
