Patrol boat saved 371 migrants
The "LÉ Róisín" has saved 371 migrants from three boats in the Mediterranean Sea in the morning of June 27, 2016. She was deployed to its first mission at 06:50 a.m. and rescued 114 people from a rubber boat off the Libyan coast. As soon as they were on board, the crew approached another rubber boat in the same area and rescued 115 people. A further 142 migrants were found in a third boat nearby, about 37 nautical miles north west of Tripoli. The "LÉ Róisín" has rescued more than 1,000 people since it joined the operation and were offered food, water and medical treatment. The operation was directed by the Italian Maritime Rescue Co-Ordination Centre.

The LÉ Róisín, has rescued 111 migrants from the Mediterranean Sea but the crew also recovered two bodies in the operation on June 16, 2016. The LÉ Róisín was deployed by the Italian Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre to find the migrants' boat off the Libyan coast in the morning. The rescue began at 06.50 a.m., and within three hours, the crew had taken 111 people on board, giving them food, water and medical treatment. Two women had died before the rescue. Their bodies were taken out of the long rubber boat and placed on board the "LÉ Róisín". The ship isailed to Port of Lampedusa where the survivors were placed in the care of the Italian authorities. The "LÉ Róisín" had left Cork in the Republic of Ireland on 2 May to join the international search and rescue operation in the Mediterranean. Before the recent operation, the ship had rescued 782 people to date.
Le Roisin saves 123 migrants off Libya coast
The Irish military said the vessel Le Roisin, deployed earlier this month in the humanitarian search and rescue operations, saved 123 migrants from a 12-metre-long (40-foot) rubber dinghy and recovered a male body.
