Ketch towed to Blankenberge with engine damage
On Oct 28, 2014, short befpre 10 p.m. the skipper of the "Lady Sparrow" requested the help of the VBZR. The yacht with a crew of five on board had suffered a technical fault and aksed to be towed to the port of Blankenberge. The lifeboat "Sterke Dries" was launched and had reached the disabled ketch within 20 minutes. A crew member was immediately transferred on board the sailing vessel and helped to establish a towing connection. As the ship was adrift behind the shipping lane ithad to be waited before the tow to the port of Blankenberge could start. At 11:27 p.m. the "Lady Sparrow" was safely moored in Blankenberge.
