On Feb 28, 2011, around 7 p.m. the "Kotank 3" was in collision with tthe inland tank m/v "Brandaris“, 1188 ts (ENI-Nr.: 02317177), near Kinderdijk at the conjunction of Lek, Noord and New Maas. Two crewmembers of the "Brandaris" were hurt, one hospitalized. Both ships suffered damage at the foreship. The "Kotank 3" was coming from Rotterdam with gas oil when she was approached by the "Brandaris“ heading for Rotterdam. The „Kotank 3“ was moored at the quay in Kinderdijk before proceeding to Europoort.
