Disabled survey boat drifted on the Rhine

On jan 10, 2019, at 7.30 p.m. the "Konz" suffered an engine failure above Zons on the Rhine and was disabled. The crew of two issued a distress call while the boat was drifting towards the ferry pt. Zons and made contact with the ferry "Niederrhein“. The ferry soon disembarked its passengers and took the "Konz" alongside at starboard side. Both ships were connected, and the "Konz" was pulled to the ramp of the ferry berth in Zons and temporarily secured. Rescue forces attended the ship as well as a helicoter. The fire brigade Dormagen was on scene with 57 forces, supported from Neuss and Düsseldorf. Five boats were on scene, two from Colonia, and one from Dormagen, Monheim and Neuss. The DLRG in Dormagen was alerted too but did not have to intervene. The "Konz" was set adrift and then secured by a fire boat which took it to a nearby pier of the KD Shipping Company.
