Bunker tanker caused oil spill
The 'Kollum' caused an oil spill at the Panama Canal, in Panama City, on Oct. 21, 2024, while supplying a ship. The Canal Authority indicated that the incident at Pier 18 was attended to by specialists, who applied the protocols to control the situation and facilitate the actions of the company in charge of the cleanup. The port activity at that dock was temporarily halted, although there was no impact on the scheduling of transits through the canal. Containers crashed on bunker tanker
Three containers fell from the container ship "Charlotte Maersk" which was docked at the Panamaa Ports Company Balboa Container Terminal in Panama City on Nov 6, 2018. Two crashed onto the foreship of the "Kollum" which was moored alongside for bunkering purposes. The third container fell into the water. The "Charlotte Maersk" had arrived at Panama City on Nov 6, coming from Lazaro Cardenas. The bunker tanker should sustained some damages, but no one was injured.
Medevac in German Bight
On Oct 22, 2015, a 20 year old Dutch crew member of the "Thun Gothia" suffered a cut injury aboard the ship in the German Bight. The lifeboat "Harro Koebke" was able to medevac the seriously injured man who had received first aid aboard the tank m/v in spite of wave heights of two meters and WSW winds of up to seven Beaufort. The man was taken to Helgoland while the crew of the DGzRS-boat treated him in the ship's hospital.
