Ferry ran aground at Gilimanuk
The KMP 'Tunu Pratama Jaya 3888' ran aground at the LCM Gilimanuk Harbour, Jembrana, Bali,on Dec 22, 2022, at around 9.30 a.m. WITA. As a result, sailing activities at Gilimanuk Harbor were disrupted for more than 12 hours. The three LCM piers that were normally operated could only operate two piers, so that loading and unloading activities were very disrupted. There was queue of vehicles at Ketapang Port.The 'Tunu Pratama Jaya 3888' got stuck due to receding sea water. At 9.50 p.m. the KMP 'Karya Maritim' and KMP 'Trans Java' in vain tried to refloat the ship. Another attempt failed on Dec 23 at around 01.30 a.m. At around 05.40 a.m. the KMP 'Liputan' and KMP 'Samudra Indonesia' returned to the site. Only at 11 a.m. the ferry could be freed by the KMP 'Tunu Pratama Jaya' with the rising tide, so that the ferry activity at Gilimanuk Harbor returned back to normal.
Ferry drifted aground
The 'Tunu Pratama Jaya 3888' ran aground in the Bali Strait on Aug 18, 2022. The vessel, which had departed from Gilimanuk Harbor, was dragged to shallow waters by strong winds and got stuck approximately 200 metres from the shore of Pura Segar. The passengers were safely evacuated.
Ferry ran aground
The 'Tunu Pratama Jaya 3888' ran aground 30 meters from the shoreline as it was completing its voyage from Banyuwangi, East Java, to Gilmanuk on Oct 10, 2021, at 10 p.m. The landinc craft was preparing to berth at the LCM Pelabuhan Gilimanuk Pier when it got caught by a strong current and got stuck. With the rising tide at 11.25 p.m. it could be refloated and proceeded to the intended berth. The vessel was carrying five container trucks, nine large trucks, two medium-sized trucks, and 17 passengers at the time of the grounding.
