Repairs and investigations completed
The 'Pantokrator', following the fire at Samarinda on Jan 26, ahs resumed its operations on Feb 9 after repairs. At 4.15 p.m. the ship left Samarinda en route to Pare Pare with an ETA as of Feb 10. The investigation on the fire which was suspected to be intentionally, has also been completed.
Police questioned crew and witnesses
Two days after the fire on the 'Pantokrator' at Samarinda, the police have examined seven people on Jan 28, including the captain, the chief, a deckhand, crew members and other witnesses. It was still not clear as to what caused the fire. As of today, the vessel still remains at Samarinda. The INAFIS Satreskrim Team of the Samarinda Police had extinguished the fire on board the vessel. After they discovered that the incident was intentional, a team from the National Police Laboratory for Research has been brought in to conduct investigations. The INAFIS team arrived on scene on Jan 26 at around 12.40 a.m., but the officers were still cleaning or disposing of the water that entered on the third deck.
Fire was intentional
After the INAFIS Satreskrim Team of the Samarinda Police has extinguished the fire on board the KM 'Pantokrator', which occured while the vessel was docked at Samarinda on Jan 26, it was found out that it was intentional. A team from the National Police Laboratory for Research has been called to conduct investigations. The INAFIS team arrived on scene on Jan 26 at around 12.40 p.m. The officers were still cleaning or disposing of the water that entered on the third deck. The passengers were diverted to the ferry 'Adithya'.
