One man died aboard the "Geir II" off Tromsøflaket during a working accident reported on Sep 30, 2010, at 5.27 a.m., obviously some hours after the accident had happened. A helicopter was yet alarmed, but stood down at 6.24 a.m. by the rescue center as the man was dead. He had been caught in a conveyor belt and suffered injuries he could not survive. The ship which was 125 miles northeast of Tromsø proceeded to port after the accident and berthed on 4.30 p.m. with its remaining crew from Nordmøre. The Accident Investigation Board sent a team of three from its office at Lillestrøm and will thoroughly investigate the case especially regarding the fact that the ship was delivered only on Sep 3.
