Tanker with engine trouble near Stad
In the afternoon of Jan 9, 2020, the 'Key Figher' suffered a turbo charger failure and needed assistanc enroute from Klaipeda. The ship was disabled near Stad. It was taken in tow by the lifeboat 'Halfdan Grieg' and berthed at the Måløy Cargo Terminal at 11 p.m. She left the port again on Jan 12 at 10.40 p.m. and headed towards the North Sea for order.
One dead, one injured by poisoning
One crew member has died and one was seriously injured after a work accident aboard the "Key Fighter" off Stadlandet on Sep 1, 2018, at 5.30 a.m. A rescue helicopter was on site half an hour later. Two unconscious crew members who were in the process of carrying out work in a chemical tank aboard the ship were found. Their colleagues had lifted them out of the tank. They were taken with the rescue helicopter to the hospital in Ålesund, where one of them was then declared dead. Both had been exposed to the toxic gas hydrogen sulphide, also known as hydrogen sulphide. The ship berthed in Måløy, Sogn og Fjordane County, at 7 a.m. where the police conducted investigations and interrogated the crew. Key Fighter suffered breach in the bow
The "Key Fighter" following its allision with the quay of Fynsværket in the Odense Canal was sent to the Fayard Yard for repairs of a breach of three metres length in the bow. The cause of the accident which happened in spite of pilot assistance was not yet clear. The police questioned pilot and captain and drug tested them.
