Safety deposit requested due to missing MARPOl-Certificates

During an inspection of the "Ken Goh" regarding the MARPOL compliance on Mar 16, 2015, in the port of Sassnitz/Mukran police found that the liability certificate in connection with the bunker convention iwas not on board. In consultation with the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Authority the captain of the ship had to pay a security deposit of 633,50.- Euro. The ship left the port again on Mar 18.

Two crew of m/v Ken Goh injured in rough weather, one died, North Pacific

Bulk carrier Ken Goh requested medical evacuation of 2 crew members in position 53 11N 169 06E, 380 nm NE of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Pacific ocean, on Oct 21 2011. Two Filipino crew were seriously injured in a rough weather, while working in the open. MRCC Petropavlovsk advised vessel to head for Petropavlovsk, as S&R service doesn’t have helicopter capable of such a long-range flight. Vessel is sailing to Petropavlovsk now, ETA 22.10.11 0600 LT. Regretfully, one of injured seamen died. Vessel is en route from Vancouver to China. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
