Patrol boat dispatched to Altair wreck off Gotland
On Sep 14, 2015, the "KBV 047" left the port of Slite bound for the sinking site of the sunken former survey vessel Altair“, 148 BRZ (IMO-Nr.: 7338339), off Faludden. Bad weather hampered the planned inspection of divers regarding a possible draining of the 1200 Liters diesel fuel. Meanwhile a surveillance plane and satellites observed the sinking site regarding a possible oil spill. A boom has been laid out around the masts of the wreck which were still protruding from the water. The “KBV 047” berthed in Ronehamn to be fitted out. There was no word yet about a salvage of the wreck which was resting in a water depth of eight meters.
