Wire of ramp broke
On the afternoon of Oct 15,, the Port Authority of Elefsina was informed, that a wire of the stern ramp had broken while the 'Kapetan Christos' was sailing. The ship docked safely at the port, and the Central Port Authority of Elefsina initially prohibited the sailing of the ship. After the presentation of a seaworthiness certificate by the classifier monitoring it, the sailing ban was lifted.
Ferry got anchors jammed
On the morning of Juen 27, 2024, the Port Authority of Mykonos was informed that the 'Kapetan Christos' with 10 crew members, a truck and its driver on board, was unable to approach the port of Mykonos due to a jamming of its anchors during the mooring maneuvers. The ferry left for the anchorage of Syros. Subsequently, with the assistance of the 'Megalochari X', actions to disengage the anchors were taken. The Port Authority of Syros allowed the departure of theferry for a single vessel upon presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness by the monitoring classification society to continue its scheduled route from Syros to Naxos, Mykonos, Andros and Elefsina.
Ferry ran aground off Keas
In the evening of July 17, 2022, the Port Authorities of Kea and Lavrio were informed that the 'Kapetan Christos' had run aground and suffered water ingress south of Keas, en route from Elefsina to Mykonos, with 20 passengers, 11 crew members and 22 vehicles on board. A passing ship and the tug 'Apollon' (IMO: 7431806), along with officers of the Coast Guard with a patrol vehicle attended the site. The 'Apollon' pulled the ship off, which then sailed under its own power to the port of Lavrio, where it safely disembarked the passengers and vehicles. The Central Port Authority of Lavrio prohibited the sailing of the vessel until the presentation of a class maintenance certificate by the classification society which is monitoring the ship.
