Grounding at Rognholmen

The "Nordfangst N-96-RT" with a crew of two aboard ran aground in the Raft Sound, north of the Svart Sound approach at Rognholmen in the Lofoten, in the morning of Nov 15, 2016. The lifeboat "Sundt Flyer" was alerted, but the damage remained limited. A diver was sent down for an inspection of the hull which was found to be not leaking. The fishing vessel thus could proceed to a yard in Svolvaer for repairs with onw power. It turned out that cooling pipes were clamped together so that the engine did not get adequate cooling. In addition, the sonar was torn off.
