Disabled crabber towed to Newlyn
The Sennen Cove lifeboat on Dec 3, 2011, received a call in the evening that the "Intuition Craber" was in difficulties approximately 4 miles northwest of Pendeen. She had suffered a fouled propeller and was making some way in the moderate to rough sea. The Sennen Cove RNLI lifeboat "City of London III" launched at 7p.m., with five crew on board, to assist the vessel which had six crew on board. The lifeboat arrived with the crabber at 7.30 p.m., and a tow was started for Newlyn. The tow was carried out through periods of rain, with northwesterly force 6 winds, and a 10ft swell. The lifeboat and the fishing vessel eventually arrived in Newlyn at 1.30 a.m. on Dec 4. Due to adverse weather at Sennen Cove, the lifeboat remained at Newlyn overnight and returned to the Cove at high water on Sunday morning 4 December.
