Statement of Israel owner
The 'Hyperion Ray' suffered no damage after reports that Iranian forces had fired a missile at the vessel in the Gulf of Oman. A short statement from Ray Shipping, the Israeli company that owns the vessel, played down reports of an attack, but gave no details on the nature of any incident. "The MV Hyperion Ray incurred no damage and is continuing at full speed on its original voyage," it said.
Vehicles carrier attacked off Fujairah
The 'Hyperion Ray' was attacked in the Arabian Sea off Fujairah while enroute from Shuwaikh to the port. The ship was hit by either a missile or drone. The ship had arrived at Fujairah anchorage in the night of April 12, 2021, and moved to anchorage outer limits in the morning of April 13. No serious damages were reported, and nobody was injured. Israel was already blaming Iran, alleging it was a retaliation after recent incident in the Iranian nuclear facility.
Dockers blocked ship in Hambantota
The "Hyperion Highway" berthed at Sri Lanka’s Hambantota port on Dec 6, 2016, completed operations on Dec 7, and was to leave Hambantota, bound for Sohar Port in Oman, but was blocked by trade union dockers, and as of Dec 10, was still in port. Tugs and pilot could not reach the vessel, as dockers surrounded vessel with barbed wire, threw stones and on Dec 9 tried to climb aboard. The Navy had to intervene, in order to protect the vessel. The dockers were protesting against a Chinese firm, which was to take over the port including all staff.
