Stowaway found on ferry

A stowaway who was found on the 'Hurst Point', en route from Southampton, UK, to Boston, USA, with a cargo of cars and trucks, was led off the vessel at the Conley Terminal in South Boston in the morning of Feb 5, 2024, and held by Customs and Border Patrol for processing. The man was escorted in handcuffs into a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) vehicle. The US Coast Guard had escorted the 'Hurst Point' through Boston harbour alongside city and state police. The identity of the stowaway and any charges were unclear. An investigation was launched into why the stowaway was on board, how he slipped by security, and where he came from.

Storm damage off Norway

The 'Hurst Point', while en route from Sorreisa to Dundee, suffered damage to its hull and cargo due to heavy weather, while in the Norwegian Sea on April 1. 2020. The vessel was subsequently diverted to Trondheim, where it arrived on April 2 at 5 a.m. for damage assessment. it left the port again at 6.20 p.m. and headed to Rosyth with an ETA as of April 4 at noon.

Medevac off Brixham

A joint operation by the Torbay Lifeboat and an HM Coastguard helicopter from St. Athan medevaced an injured crew member of the "Hurst Point" after he fell and injured his shoulder about five miles off Brixham at the Devon coast on Jan 24, 2019. The ferry was en route from Southampton to Glenmallan when the man fell 2.5 metres and injured a shoulder. The RNLI all-weather lifeboat was launched from Brixham and a Welsh coastguard rescue helicopter was diverted to the scene at just before 2 p.m. The lifeboat crew immobilised the casualty and cared for him before he was airlifted to Exeter airport by the HM Coastguard's St Athan search and rescue helicopter, where a waiting ambulance transferred him to hospital. The Torbay volunteer crew returned to station at around 4 p.m. The "Hurst Point" was due to arrive at Glenmallan on Jan 28.
