Tests were negative
The results of the tests of the sailors of the 'Hoegh Trove' turned out that none of them tested positive for Coronavirus. They had to undergo tests following a suspicion of Covid-19 on board. The ship had left Madagascar on June 28, after a stopover in Durban on June 22 and 23 and was stuck in Port Réunion since one week.
Crew tested for COVID 19 after dock worker in Durban was tested positive
The crew of the 'Hoegh Trove' which docked in Port Réunion in the morning of June 30, 2020, was screened for the Covid-19. A dock worker who had boarded in the last port of call which was Durban and then descended, has since been tested positive. The ship was blocked at the port. It was transporting new vehicles. As no crew member showed symptoms of coronavirus, the ARS had authorized the arrival of the vessel. Once it had docked, the authorities were informed about the case in Durban. A decision was therefore made to test all of the sailors and suspend handling, pending the results of the tests. These were not yet known.
