Cargo ship grounded at Hustadvika
At Hustadvika the "Havgløtt", with a crew of four people aboard, ran aground off Askevågen in the afternoon of Aug 23, 2018. It got stuck in pos. 62° 57.92' N 007° 1.55' E. The NSSR lifeboat "Erik Bye" assisted the ship. None of the four on board was injured. They were taken off and transported to shore by the lifeboat. It was planned that the lifeboat would pull the vessel, which had sailed from Kristiansund on Aug 20, off with the next high tide which was expected at 9.30 p.m. At 10 p.m. the "Erik Bye" was on site. After the "Havgløtt»" was floating again, she headed to Aukra, where she berthed at midnight. Grounding at Hustadneset
The "Havgløtt" with a cargo of sand and a crew of three on board has run aground at Hustadneset on Dec 11, 2013, in the morning. The JRCC was notified of the grounding at 09.26 a.m. The vessel was enroute to Kristiansund. The crew tried to shift the load with the dredge on deck and then get out of the shallows at high tide which was expected at 6 p.m. Already half an our earlier the ship managed to refloat itself and was heading west, the direction it came from.
