Crabber towed to Newlyn

In the afternoon of June 11, 2020, the RNLI Sennen Cove was alerted to assist the disabled 'Harriet Eve'·off Newlyn. The lifeboat ‘City of London III’ assisted the crabber which had a failure of the steering motor. Also the lifeboat from Penlee, the 'Ivar Ellen', came to assistt and met with ‘City of London III’ about a mile south of Mousehole, escorting them back to Newlyn, and then acted as a brake whilst the Sennen lifeboat towed the ‘Harriet Eve’ through the gaps. Disabled trawler towed to Newlyn

On Jan 30, 2018, at 6.40 p.m., at the request of HM Coastguard, Falmouth, the all-weather lifeboat "Ivan Ellen" launched from Newlyn in order to assist the Sennen Cove Lifeboat "City of London III" with the tow of the "Harriet Eve - TO50" which had broken down with a crew of five on board. The "Ivan Ellen" arrived on scene at 7.00 p.m., about a mile south of Mousehole, and escorted the Sennen Cove Lifeboat and her tow back to Newlyn. A rope was attached from the "Ivan Ellen" to the stern of the "Harriet Eve" to act as a brake whilst the "City of London III" towed her safely into harbour.
