Fire destroyed part of cargo
In the afternoon of Sep 27, 2020, a fire broke out on the cargo deck of the 'Hansung' which was berthed at the Hakozaki Wharf in Hakata, Fukuoka. Second-hand cars which had been loaded in the port caught fire. Firefighters needed three hours to extinguish theblaze. More than a dozen cars were destroyed. One Russian crew member suffered hands burns and was hospitalized. The ship had arrived at Hakata on Sep 23 from Vladivostok.
Ship sailed to Zhousan
The "Iman" which had been disabled after a fire in the engine room 210 nautical miles from Vladivostok in the Sea of Japan on Nov 24, 2017, and taken in tow on Nov 25 by the supply tug "Neftegaz 55" to Vladivostok, reportedly sailed from the Gerneral Cargo Terminal berth 45/46 in Vladivostok to the port of Zhousan with machinery on board, on Jan 12, 2018, after repairs.
After murder on board fire in engine room
The MRCC Vladivostok was alerted after a fire broke out in the engine room of the "Iman" in the morning of Nov 24, 2017, in the Japan Sea, 210 miles off Vladivostok. The loaded vehicles carrier was en route from Toyama to Vladivostok with a Russian crew oof 21 on board. The engine room was sealed and the fire extinguishing system activated. The fire could be extinguished, but the ship was disabled and adrift, so that the offshore supply tug "Neftegaz 55" (IMO: 8418459) was dispatched to tow disabled ship to Vladivostok. Only on Nov 12 the second officer of the ship had been found dead, while it was docked at the Toyama Shinko port. Later one crew member was arrested as a suspect in murdering him. The "Iman" was allowed to leave port after all formalities and investigations on Nov 21, only to run into trouble again.
