One injured in explosion
In the afternoon of July 26, 2019, an explosion rocked the "Niki which was moored off Porto Imituba. One man was seriously injured. The city's fire department treated the 47 year of Filipino. The SAMU took him to the São Camilo Hospital. The victim had suffered multiple fractures in the lower limbs and broken bones of the legs and feet, caused by the explosion of a compressor inside the ship which was waiting to load in the port of Imbituba. The rescuers were taken by the speedboat from Imbituba to the anchorage two miles offshore, and braved bad weather, rough seas and strong winds as they used rescue techniques to medevac the victim from the ship which had arrived, coming from Port Arthur, on July 20 and was waiting to take on a cargo for Necochea.
