Bulkcarrier boarded by armed perpetrators
On March 29, 2024, at 11.58 p.m. the 'Georg Island' was boarded wby three perpetrators, armed with knives, in pos. 1° 3.43' N 103° 29.33' E off Pulau Cula in the Strait of Singapore. No injuries were reported, and nothing was reported stolen.
Allision damagerepaired in Ijmuiden
The "Frontier Island" left the port of Ijmuiden, where she had been damaged by the "Golden Ruby" at the quay of the Tate Steel Works on Jan 26, again on Feb 9 at 5.30 p.m. after repairs, being bound for Immingham as next port of call, ETA Feb 10 at 3 p.m.
Collision in Ijmuiden
The Hongkong flagged bulkcarrier "Golden Ruby" (IMO: 9470399), allided with the "Frontier Island", which was berthed in Ijmuiden at Tate Steel Works, Outer Quay 2, on Jan 26, 2016. The "Golden Ruby" had sailed from Port Calbot on Jan 23 and arrived in Ijmuiden where the "Golden Ruby" slammed into its starboard side, causing a breach above the water line. Also the "Golden Ruby" which had sailed from Eemshaven berthed in Ijmiden at the Monnickendam Quay around 11 p.m. after the accident with damage to its starboard side stern. It left port again on Jan 30 at 1.45 p.m. bound for Port Cartier.
