GasLog seals Panama FSU charter
Monaco-headquartered GasLog has sealed a ten-year time charter with Sinolam LNG Terminal for the provision of a LNG floating storage unit. The FSU will be used to receive, store and send out LNG to a gas-fired power project being developed in Panama. GasLog is planning the conversion of 155,000 cu m LNG carrier GasLog Singapore. The conversion will see the vessel become FSU ready, but also still be able to trade as an LNG carrier. The conversion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2020, at the same time as the vessel’s regular dry-docking. The charter in Panama will commence in November 2020.
First ship to berth at new LNG terminal in Pascagoula
El Paso's new liquefied natural gas terminal in Pascagoula will receive its first cargo on June 13 for testing purposes, the terminal operator told Reuters on Wednesday, Reuters reports. The Gaslog Singapore tanker, which can hold up to 155,000 cubic meters of LNG, set anchor near the newly built Gulf LNG terminal in Pascagoula on Wednesday and it will dock and offload next week. "It is expected to make berth on Monday June 13." The $1.1 billion Gulf LNG terminal will have the capacity to process up to 1.3 billion cubic feet (bcf) per day of LNG. Two on-site storage tanks have a combined capacity of up to 6.6 bcf. The LNG terminal comes online just as U.S. gas production hits record highs, which has dented import needs and left many new terminals in the U.S. Gulf sitting idle.
