Medevac off Brest
On May 1, 2017, at 3.25 p.m. the CROSS Corsen was notified about a sick crew member aboard the "Kerflous" 117 km west of Brest. Following a telephone conference with the Maritime Medical Consultation Center (CCMM) in Toulouse, the SAMU of Maritime Medical Coordination of Finistère and the ship, the decision was made to medevacc the sailor by helicopter to the hospital of Brest. A Cayman helicopter of the French Navy took off with a medical team on board from the Brest naval base. It reached the ship at 5:10 p.m., and the man was taken care of by the medical team and hoisted aboard the helicopter. At 5:50 p.m., the helicopter landed at the Cavale Blanche Hospital in Brest.
Medevac off Ushant
On Nov 21, 2013, the CROSS Corsen was alerted around midnight by the "Kerflous" after a crew member was wounded. The ship was 50 miles northwest of Ushant. After first aid treatment on board, it was finally decided by the center of maritime medical consultation (CSCM) Toulouse to medevac the fisher to Brest. A Cayman helicopter of the National Navy proceeded to hoist the sailor and took him to the hospital Cavale Blanche where he was deilivered at 3:02 a.m.
Medevac off Lanvéoc
On Feb 21, 2013, at 5.39 p.m. the CROSS Corsen was alerted after a crew member of the "Kerflous" suffered severe arm,injuries during a maneuver. Following a conference call between the maritime center of medical consultation, Toulouse, CROSS Corsen and the fishing vessel, a medevac was decided. The trawler with five men on board was 72 miles off Lanvéoc. The Navy dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the naval aviation Lanvéoc. It took off to 6:20 p.m. with a medical health officer of the army on board. Around 7:30 p.m. the 21 year old sailor was evacuated and transported to the Cavale Blanche Hospital at Brest.
