Fishing vessel in distress off Hirsthals
In the morning of Aug 2, the Danish f/v 'Tenna - FN 111' started to sink off Hirtshals. The rescue vessel 'FRB 14' was alerted and towed the foundering ship to the beach. The skipper Benny Larsen was rescued by the 'HM 17' and taken to Hirtshals Harbor. He had managed to keep his mobile phone afloat so much that he was able to transmit his position to a colleague on the 'HM 17'. Shortly afterwards, the shipwreck was also observed from a ferry, which also sounded the alarm. Meanwhile, the lifeboat of the Hirtshals Rescue Station towed the halfsunken vessel to the beach east of Hirtshals. A crane of Henry Petersen & Sons lifted the 'Tenna' on a trailer after the Port of Hirtshals in vain had tried to salvage the ship beach with their crane truck.
