Cargo vessel refloated and sailing again

The "FM Prosperity", which had run aground off Pichilingue on Feb 25, was refloated and left the port on Feb 26 around 10 p.m. The ship headed for Ensenada with an ETA of Mar 2, 3 p.m.

Grounding off Pichilinque

After downloading 4350 tons of rebar at Pichilingue port, the "FM Prosperity" ran aground a few meters from the coast, while it was assisted by the port Pilot who failed to bring the vessel to waters outside the navigation channel on Feb 26, 2013, at 6 a.m. The "FM Kingstown" had docked in Pichilingue on Feb 25, and that same day started downloading the rod. The pilot took control of the ship to get it out of the bay at 6 a.m. A tug in vain tried to pull the vessel off. Another attempt was to be undertaken at 9 p.m. with weather and tide favorable and supported by a larger tug. The incident did not disrupt shipping in the Harbour.
