Tanker supllied migrant boat hours before it sank with hundreds on board
After Frontex first spotted the migrant boat which sank on June 14 with hundredds of migrants, at around 08:00 a.m. GMT on June 13 and informed the Greek authorities. Alarm Phone received a call at 12:17 p.m. GMT saying the boat was in distress. The m/v 'Lucky Sailor' abruptly turned north at 3 p.m. GMT after having been asked by the Coastguard to approach the migrant boat and give food and water. At 3:35 p.m. GMT, a coastguard helicopter found the migrant boat on a steady course at the time.At 6 p.m. GMT also the 'Faithful Warrior' diverted to the scene and gave supplies to the boat via a rope in the water. After the boat sank with hundreds on board, several ships, including the 'Celebrity Beyond', the luxury yacht 'Mayan Queen', which was then instructed to help take some of the 104 survivors ashore, diverted to the area.
