Pusher tug gutted by fire

The "Fabico 4" was gutted by a fire in the Auguste Victoria Port in Marl on the Wesel-Datteln-Canal on Nov 25, 2017. A deckhand had remarked smoke development in the engine room at 4.45 a.m. He alerted the other four crew members who were able to leave the ship in time. The fire spread to the superstructure and the cabins above the engine room. The fire rescue attended with three engines and was able to get the fire under control until the morning. A fire guard remained on site. The ship was estimated to have become a constructive total loss. The water police Datteln started an investigation.
