Baby born on board
On Aug 6, 2022, a baby was born aboard the 'Express 2' in the evening, shortly after the ferry had left Sjællands Odde heading for Aarhus, with the assistance of two doctors and a student. After arriving in Aarhus, the family was taken to Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby, where both the mother and the newborn were reported to be safe. Docking manoever in Ebeltoft aborted
In the morning of Aug 17, 2019, the captain of the 'Express 2' aboarted its attempt to dock at the port in Ebeltoft after a mooring rope broke due to heavy wind gusts. Instead, the ship with nearly 650 passengers and about 250 cars on board, proceeded to Aarhus. In Ebeltoft, customers who had a ticket to sail to Seelands Odde, were encouraged to drive to the port of Aarhus instead.
Damage still being assessed
MAN Diesel was still analyzing the cause of the engine failure that put the "Express 2" out of operation on Feb 16. It was still uncertain when the engine would be repaired and therefore it was not clear when the "Express 2" can be reintroduced at Aarhus Odden. "MAN's technicians were still assessing the damage to the engine, so they could not really say anything about how extensive repairs and the time horizon would be.
