Blohm+Voss to refit Hapag-Lloyd Cruises ship Europa 2
German shipyard Blohm+Voss is to refit Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Europa and Europa 2 before the end of October 2017. Both ships will undergo scheduled maintenance works and technical upgrades, while certain areas onboard areas will be refreshed with new décor and equipment. “During our ships’ docking periods, not only do we carry out the necessary technical maintenance, but also complete various renovations onboard that then have a direct impact on our guests and enhance their cruise experience – whether this involves adding a new bar, redesigning the spa, or giving another area a makeover,” said Karl J. Pojer, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. “When implementing this work, we take into account what our guests want and need, however, we also follow current trends.” Blohm+Voss will start Europa’s dry dock on 13 September, completely redesigning The Belvedere lounge at the ship’s bow to create access to the library and a coffee bar.
