Spill After Tanker Collision off Japan
Reports of an oil spill have been received following a collision between two tankers about two nautical miles off Japan's coast on Sunday, local media reports. Keihin Maru 8 is said to have partially sunk after it collided with the 5,025 DWT product tanker Eastern Phoenix off of the port of Kehin in the Japanese prefecture of Kanagawa. Reports indicate it was had around 300 metric tonnes (mt) of bunkers on board at the time of the incident.
