River cruise ship grounded on Danube
In the morning of May 29, 2013, the "Viking Legend“ got stuck on the Danube in the Strudengau, Austria. The ship got into trouble around 3 a.m. in the narrow at Hößgang in the Amstetten district. The river had to be closed for ship traffic. Around 6 a.m. the pusher ship "Aries" tried to refloat the casualty. First attempts to pull the stern off failed. The "Aries" had to round Wörth island to get a better position to push the river cruise ship off. When it was floating again, it continued its voyage downstream.
