search for missing crew member suspended
The US Coast Guard suspended the search for a crewmember from the "ustin Danos" on Nov 11. Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector New Orleans had received a report on Nov 9 of a missing crewman last seen aboard the utility vessel which was wearing gray long johns and a white T-shirt earlier in the day. Multiple aircrews from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile, Alabama, and a commercial helicopter crew conducted searches, along side the crews of the Coast Guard Cutter "Pelican" and the "Dustin Danos". In total, Coast Guard crews searched for 52 hours and covered more than 2,733 square miles. The search was suspended pending further developments.
Search for missing crew member
On Nov 9, 2013, the New Orleans Coast Guard and other crews were searching for a crewman missing from the "Dustin Danos" about 60 miles southwest of Port Fourchon. The New Orleans Coast Guard received reports of the missing crewman early in the day. Multiple aircrews from the Coast Guard were deployed to search for the missing crew member jointly with the Coast Guard Cutter "Pelican" and the "Dustin Danos".
