Tanker suffered substantial damage in fire
While none of the crew of 12 nor the Norwegian pilot of the "Stella Lyra" was injured in the fire on Dec 20, there was significant damage to the control room and surrounding areas in the ship. The fire was extinguished at 10.04 a.m. In the afternoon the tanker was still anchored about two kilometers from the pier in Mosjøen where she had been since the fire started. After the fire broke out in the control room, the ship suffered a blackout. The ferry "Alstein" was first on scene, followed by the pilot boat 106, which remained on standby for several hours. The tug "Nautilus Balder" (IMO: 8406157) and the "Nautilus Aldra" (IMO: 7409877) were called to pull the disabled "Stella Lyra" back to the wharf in Mosjøen where the Sjøfartsdirektoratet would start investigations to determine the extent of the damage and handle the further process.
