Covid causes disruptions on Yell Sound route
Covid isolation requirements were affecting the Yell Sound ferry service on April 21, and 22, 2022. The 'Dagalien' will operate to a shift timetable, with bookings suspended. On April 23 the last run will be 8.15 p.m. from Toft, and on April 24 the first run will be the 7.05 a.m. from Ulsta, with the last leaving Toft at 8.15 p.m. The Shetland Islands Council apologised for any inconvenience caused. Information can be found on the voicebank service on 01595 743972. Prior to that issues with a linkspan last month and a fault to equipment on the 'Dagalien' caused disruption on the route.
Ferry delayed back from refit
The "Dagalien" suffered problems while undergoing a refit and was delayed in returning to Shetland after developing engine cooling issues. Engineers were struggling to find the reason behind the ongoing problem 2019, briefly after the "Fivla" was taken out of service on Yell Sound briefly at the end of May due to a fault, with services on the Yell Sound being reduced to a single vessel. On June 9, 2019, the "Dagalien" left Aberdeen at 1.30 p.m. and heade to the Yell Sound with a call at Lerwick on June 10.
