Container loss on Waal
In the afternoon of March 9, 2019, the "Crigee", 5500 ts (EU-No.: 02332326; MMSI-No.: 244650588; CS: PD3955), lost three containers overboard during a storm gust on the Waal near Ooij. The containers were blowing onto the left river bank between the cribs where they grounded. the ship had sailed from Gorinchem at 8.45 a.m. and berthed in Voerde, lower Rhine, at 9.30 p.m. before proceeding to Duisburg where it berthed on March 10 at 11.10 p.m. The cargo consisted of furniture and furniture components. The washed-up containers were guarded by a security firm until the crane ship "Novamente" recovered them on March 11. The extent of the damage was unknown.
