Detention in Gemlik

Vessel fined for pollution
A pollution fine was imposed on the 'Consul' by the local municipality environmental pollution prevention department, due to a breach of a local regulation as per Marpol rules, during the vessel's stay at Mersin on Aug 2, 2021, at noon. Subsequently, an investigation file was opened by the local authority. As a result of investigations, the vessel was found guilty of discharging dirty ballast water and was imposed a fine amount of one 160800 $. The vessel's departure permission was cancelled by the Harbour Master until the payment of the fine together with cleaning expenses. The vessel left Mersin the same day around midnight, headed to Rostov-on-Don with an ETA as of Aug 13.
