The "Punta Salinas" of Salvamento Marítimo was deployed in order to take the ship in tow in case the damage could not be fixed on scene. But the crew managed to rectify the damage so far that the vessel resumed the sailing at 8.18 p.m. and arrived in Santa Cruz about two hours late with only one engine at 11.15 p.m. The ferry sailed back to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Apr 24 at 8.40 a.m. after technicians resolved the trouble.
Shifted trailers damaged cars in storm
On Jan 20, 2013, the "Volcano Tijarafe", running the route Tenerife-Huelva-Gran Canaria, suffered problems in stormy weather as some of the cargo started to move in high swells. Several trailers had fallen on vehicles in the car deck. No passengers were injured. The ship went ahead with slower speed than normal and finally docked at Las Palmas on Jan 21 around 8 a.m.
