Fishing vessel Carmona ran aground at port of Concarneau
The Ireland-flagged fishing vessel Carmona ran aground at port of Concarneau, France. The vessel was maneuvering to leave the port, after offloading cargo of tuna, fished in Bay of Biscay, but due to technical failure grounded into a sandy bank outside the waterway. The ship was not able to refloat by own power and requested assistance from the local authorities. The local authorities dispatched a tug to assist with refloating and also to follow underwater inspection. After after less than an hour fishing vessel Carmona was towed to safe depth and after that docked at the port for repair and special survey. The local authorities started investigation for the root cause of the accident. The ship did not suffered serious damages, but will need to repair the technical problem.
