Refloating work going very slowly ahead
Refloating of the "Carmen Ernestina " in Puerto La Cruz was going slowly ahead after the ferry starting to sink 10 days ago after allegedly hitting the dock by the strong waves of a tropical storm. The ship came up from the bottom 1,5 meters in the meantime and was partially refloated, while engineers were gradually repairing the cracks. On Oct 20 an assessment was planned to apply another method, such as using balloons for refloating. Due to the unknown extent of damage there was no timeline given.
