Tug and barge ran aground
The 'Brooklyn' along with an oil barge - loaded with an estimated 68,000 barrels of gasoline and 29,000 gallons of diesel fuel - it was pushing ran aground on the Hudson River on Nov 3 at 7.50 a.m. The state Department of Environmental Conservation responded to the area of the North Albany Terminal on the Hudson, and believed no fuel was released. As a precautionary measure, the DEC hired a private spill contractor to handle clean up if any leaks in the vessels would have been found. Because of the river's high tide in the wake of heavy rains in the night of OCt 31, the tug was lifted and freed from the river bottom short time later. It returned to the North Albany Terminal LLC operated by the Apex Oil Co., which has a dock location there. The vessels were secured headed in the afternoon back to the terminal for inspections. https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Tugboat-barge-loaded-with-gasoline-runs-aground-14805941.php
